·     Liz Westoby has sent out a brochure to promote Earlyact and hopes Rotary Clubs choose to participate.                                                                                                               Earlyact is a Service Club for primary school students and is sponsored by a local Rotary Club.  It aims to teach values such as caring, respect, empathy, responsibility, tolerance, citizenship, compassion, friendship and leadership.

·     Liz Westoby also notified Rotary Clubs that a $40 000 scholarship is being offered by a Texan University for one years study in Texas.

·     The District Grant for uniforms for The School of St Yared was successful.

Visiting Rotary Clubs

Mal will send out the email again, asking members to select clubs they would be happy to visit to present the fund raising plan for the School of St Yared.

Guest Speaker

John Christensen is a retired lawyer with 40 years experience as a legislative drafter in Australia and overseas.  He has been a visiting lecturer in Legislative Processes at the University of Canberra.

His talk "Hats off to our Federal Constitution" was interesting, and informative.

John added a little humour by wearing various hats to highlight parts of his talk.

Jim said that there are 18 boxes still to be returned.

They ALL need to be back

NEXT Monday September 12th.

We wish them all a speedy recovery,

Invitation to All

Ian asked all members to attend and to invite partners and friends to the meeting on October 24th.  The guest speaker Gareth Parker will be talking on the American Elections.  This should be a very interesting, informative and topical talk.

They need Plasterers, Painters, Gyprockers and Tilers.

If you can help with any of these please contact Jim Calcei.
