Guest Speakers:

Colin and Gail gave a talk and Power Point presentation on their recent trip to Antarctica recounting how they encountered 65 knot winds and seven metre waves as they crossed The Drake Passage.

Once in the calmer waters of Antarctica they experienced absolutely spectacular scenery.

Two zodiac trips each day had them crunching through ice past enormous icebergs.

On shore they climbed glaciers and mountains and explored inhabited and deserted research stations.

They were very close to whales, orcas, a range of different seals and MILLIONS of penguins which were a delight.

Life on board the French ship "Le Lyrial" was very luxurious.  There were 151 crew to pamper the 193 passengers.

"It was the trip of a lifetime" said Colin.
