ON THE GRAPEVINE

·        Board meeting minutes will be distributed to members in future.

·        Subject to board approval,  Club Service  director Martin Houchin plans to establish Attadale’s own web site. It is hoped to get it up and running within 6 weeks or so. Initial cost will be $100 approx which includes the annual fee of $44 plus a one-off cost of $55 for a chosen data template.

·        Our last sausage sizzle showed a profit of $2200. Many thanks to Col Taylor and his team of hardy helpers.

·        More club publicity via an article in the Melville Times is expected soon. Thanks to Max Anderson.

·        Roy Halliwell said hello from Afghanistan where, although things are a bit hairy at present, the chicken innoculations are progressing well.

·        There are plans to promote further the Blood Bank by seeking pledges at the sausage sizzle from the public to donate their blood. Bunnings will pledge a free sausage to each donor and recompense the club for the associated cost of the snagger.

From the Editor’s Hammock

Just a short note to let you know the bulletin will be published fortnightly this year.  Its format may change slightly but we shall try to ensure it retains its usefulness as the club’s message stick. Many thanks to Yolanda and Max without whose tireless efforts we may all have become mushrooms.

Jack Gregor - Retired Judge and President of the Royal Aero Club seen here in his role as scrutineer of the $50 raffle as President Carole performs the draw.

ROTARY INFORMATION

International volunteering

International Rotary Volunteers are Rotarians and non-Rotarians who have expressed their willingness to serve abroad and have registered their skills and availability with Rotary International. All Rotary Volunteers have been endorsed by their Rotary club and their district, and serve as representatives of Rotary.

Rotarians, Rotaractors, Rotary Foundation Alumni, spouses of Rotarians, and non-Rotarians can register with RI as Rotary Volunteers by completing the Rotary Volunteers registration form.

Rotary Volunteers are listed in the Rotary Volunteers database, which is regularly reviewed by Rotarians and coordinators of independently sponsored projects.

Eligible Rotarians and spouses who locate a service site can apply for Volunteer Service Grants through The Rotary Foundation. Registration with RI as a Rotary Volunteer is not a prerequisite.

If you’re a Rotary Volunteer looking for a project that could use your expertise, search the RI projects database, ProjectLINK.
