Project Robin Hood

On Friday 23 June, the Mayor of Melville Russell Aubrey presented Colin with a cheque for $16 654 for his project “Microbats and Minimising the Mozzie Menace in Melville”.

The Melville Council offered a total of $100 000 for projects that would benefit the community.

Each project could receive a maximum of $20 000

Congratulations once again to Colin for his hard work in preparing the successful project.

Congratulations Colin on a great effort

Fellow Attadale Rotarians joined Colin at the Melville City Council for the presentation.  Colin and Martin got into the Robin Hood spirit by wearing suitable hats

The Rotary Club of Attadale members look forward to working with the community to carry out all aspects of the project.

How lucky were we?

We were delighted to have District Governor Linda McLerie and District Governor Elect Bruce Lynch and his wife, Glenda, come to our Change Over Dinner.

It was very much appreciated as we know they are in great demand.  Just look at the number of clubs they visit on Facebook.

We would like to thank Linda for her amazing dedication to the position of District Governor this year.  You have visited every club at least once and some a number of times.  The Rotary Club of Attadale were lucky enough to enjoy your company and delightful personality a number of times.

We wish you well in the coming year.

Next week a number of RC of Attadale members will travel to Mandurah for Bruce’s Change Over Night.

We know he and Glenda will have a great year and look forward to “Making a Difference” together.

Congratulations Mal

President John was delighted to announce that Mal Bennett had been awarded a Paul Harris Fellow Sapphire Pin.

Mal is a Charter member of the club.

Over the last 35 years he has exemplified the ideals of Rotary, of Service above Self.

He is a real advocate of Rotary with a strong commitment to it.

His contribution to the Rotary Club of Attadale has been wide ranging from both the formal business programs to the fun and fellowship activities.

His wife Elaine has been a wonderful help to Mal over the 35 years.  Mal said he could not have managed without her expertise.

It should be said that Rotary is an integral part of their life.

Congratulations to you both.

Change Over

President John thanked everyone for their support and commitment which he truly appreciated.

He was very proud of the many successes achieved during the year and also the many things that had been learnt.

He thanked the people involved in the Charity House, the Global Grants, the improved meeting format, the Open and Showcase nights, the Charity Golf Day and the many and varied fun and fellowship activities.

Besides our many successes he said we need to get better at succession planning and planning projects and applications

He thanked Trish for her great support which allowed him to do the job of President.

John had another duty to perform and that was to formally announce and induct the new President of the Rotary Club of Attadale, Colin McCulloch.

Colin took the opportunity to thank John for the excellent job he has done as President and to congratulate him on his commitment to Rotary and the thorough way he approached everything he did.  This year the club has taken on some big projects that required a lot of work.  John has taken on all the tasks in a calm, capable and unflappable manner.

He has worked tirelessly to get the Global Grant applications approved.

John always sees opportunities where most people see problems.

In his first act as President Colin again thanked Max and Elsa for attending, said what absolutely delightful people they are and said how much we all hoped Max would be able to get along to meetings more often.

Colin then thanked the outgoing Board members and welcomed in the new Board and Office Bearers

He said he is looking forward to another interesting and exciting year really making a difference and doing good around the corner, around the world.

Greg James proposed the toast to Rotary International

Elsa and Max Anderson are warmly welcomed

Charter members and Charter partners cut the 35th Birthday cake

Everyone was delighted to have three Charter members, Alan Morcombe, Mal Bennett and Winston Marsh, joined by two Charter partners, Nancy Bray and Joan Henley, to cut the cake.
