First Meeting not to be Missed !!
Our first meeting after the summer recess promises to be very interesting indeed with Kerry Parsons telling us about the Christmas Party we helped fund for the disabled children in Davao. He will tell us more about his visit to St Yared's School in Addis Ababa and changes that they are making with their school accommodation and how we may be able to help. Kerry will then be outlining a bold, new initiative to raise a significant amount of money to help St Yared's and our many other charities at home and abroad.
Got you interested??? When I say "new" it is actually a new version of a very successful past Club fundraiser that has the potential to propel the Club to a completely new level of achievement in our charity and service work! This will be exciting! Do not miss it!
Second Meeting February 15
Because there will be at least eight members absent this meeting may be held at a different venue - probably a local restaurant. This will be announced at the February 8 meeting and details emailed to members.
Picnic at Heathcote
A great time was had by all at the Heathcote picnic and it was wonderful to have Mike and Donna with us and to meet Frank.
Many thanks to all of those who helped at the sausage sizzle at Bunnings last Sunday. Special mention to the delightful grandsons who assisted on drinks and the till:
Jeff brought along Tim, and Colin and Gail had Matthew and Lachlan.
Special thanks also to Greg James who worked an extra hour then stayed for another forty five minutes to help with the cleaning and packing up.
It was a hot, humid day so SS sales were well below average at 690. However we sold 277 drinks and that helped swell the profit to $1,151.15. This included donations of $57.20.
2016 Duty Roster
A copy of the duty roster for the first half of 2016 is being emailed with this bulletin.
If you can't do your allocated duty please arrange a swap with another member.
Few Emails Please
Colin and Gail will be away in South America and the Antarctic from January 23 to February 16. We will have extremely limited wi-fi so please restrict any emails to just those of importance.
